Emily Ramsdell, Director of CEF Syracuse, has authored a Christmas chapter book for children titled “The Montgomery Street Gang.” Although the story has a Christmas theme, woven into the storyline is a beautiful Gospel message and the real reason we as Christians have something very special to celebrate.
What happens when a street gang and kids from a Christian Community Center meet? Trouble and tension erupt. Does it spoil the plans for the neighborhood Christmas pageant? What happens to change all their lives? The Montgomery Street Gang is a heartwarming story of love, acceptance, and forgiveness—truly a story of Christmas miracles!
The Montgomery Street Gang book is a chapter book written for children, but we are hearing about teens and adults who have been touched by the book. The book reviews read…
“This is a ‘must read’ and shared with all children no matter what the season.”
“I love the redemption story of , ‘The Montgomery Street Gang.’ I love all the unique characters in the story. They are so true to life. It’s a beautiful story of loss, sorrow, love, and kindness. I will be looking for opportunities to read it to children in my neighborhood. Even in our affluent neighborhoods, the story resonates the mercies of God that everyone can relate to.”
The Montgomery Street Gang would be a good book to give to children at Easter or anytime of the year.
All proceeds from the book will go to Child Evangelism Fellowship’s SPAN program (Sponsor A National) assisting CEF National workers reaching boys and girls in third world countries where the need is so great.
Emily writes of her and illustrator Jim Chrisfield’s dedication of the book, “It is our prayer that children will not only enjoy reading about the Montgomery Street Gang, but that they will learn Christian values that will impact their lives for godly living. Jim Chrisfield and I have dedicated this book to the Lord. It is our desire that HE be honored and glorified through it.” Click below to read Emily’s “Story Behind the Story” on The Montgomery Street Gang.
