Oh No! A Room Change!

Good News Club teacher, Ruth, shares… “It was back in December, I walked into the school and signed in for Good News Club. I was surprised to be told that we would have to hold club in the Art room not in the Library where we usually met.”

“I knew that would be difficult because parents had been invited to come to a special Christmas play and there would not be enough room for everyone in the Art room. I stepped into the Art room. No one was there and there were wet paintings on the floor. How could we possibly have our special Christmas club play there?”

“I knew several of our club volunteers had gone into the school ahead of me so I went on to the Library. They had not been told of the room change. I said to the ladies, ‘Let’s pray about this. God knows we need the Library.’ We prayed and asked Him to work it out for us. The next 10 minutes or so were a bit chaotic.

“By now, the club children were excitedly arriving in the Library and we still didn’t know exactly what we were going to do. Then the teacher that was in charge of the alternate after-school program came by as she was planning to use the Library. We talked to her explaining our situation. The teacher responded that she could move to the Art room, no problem.”

“Praise God! We saw an immediate answer to prayer. We got the children into their costumes and prayed with them. They did a wonderful job presenting the Christmas play that one of our volunteers had written. It included the Christmas story, as well as contemporary children sharing with friends the true meaning of Christmas.

“The families that came really enjoyed the play and took a number of pictures.
“As I took a student and his father home after the club, I shared with them how wonderful it was that God had answered our prayer so quickly. I also reminded the children of this at our next Good News Club meeting. It was a wonderful demonstration to all of us of God’s care and faithfulness … and His quick answer to an immediate prayer request!”
